Find Out About The Current Activities of WJSN Chengxiao, Xuanyi and Meiqi
Cosmic Girl is a cute and girly idol group consisting of 13 members. Some of the members of WJSN are originally from China, making WJSN a multinational idol group. WJSN debuted on February 25th, 2016, with their debut EP album Would You like? Chinese members, Chengxiao, Xuanyi, and Meiqi are extremely popular in their home country.
In 2018, Chengxiao, Meiqi, and Xuanyi began working separately from the other members. Meiqi and Xuanyi temporarily left WJSN and Jand competed in the Chinese version of Produce 101. They were doing extremely well in their home country. Due to contract dispute, Meiqi and Xuanyi returned to WJSN. Other than participating in the idol survival show, the WJSN Chinese trio participated in other activities.

Chengxiao
Mentor In Idol Producer
Chengxio of WJSN and Kyulkyung of Pristin joined as the popular idol survival show Produce 101 as dance mentors. Fans noticed that the mentors looked very young and beautiful. Chengxio immediately became the trainee’s favorite mentor because of her involvement in the daily activities of idols.

Chengxio contributed to the making of the original soundtrack of the game Xuan Yuan, sword, a Chinese RPG game. WJSN fans praised her singing talent and many thought that her skills have improved a lot. On the cover, Chengxiao was dressed in a lovely Chinese traditional dress. “If Love” peaked at No. 3 on the QQ Chinese music chart.
Starring In The Drama Detective Chinatown

Detective Chinatown was an action-packed criminal drama about a group of detectives collaborating to solve criminal cases. Chengxio played as Lu Qingqing in the third series of Detective Chinatown. Detective Chinatown 3 was released in January 2020 and gathered positive response from the audience. Chengxia’s character is Lu Qingqing, a member of a special police squad with a duty to solve difficult cases.

Chengxiao greeted her Instagram followers and teased fans with a sexy wink. Little by little, Chengxio lost her chubby cheek fat and started leaving her teenage look behind. She has dyed her hair and looks more mature than usual.
WJSN released their latest EP album Neverland on June 9th, 2020. The album consists of 6 tracks with “Butterfly” serving as the title track. In the “Butterfly” music video, all WJSN members look dazzling in fairy-like floral dresses. All members have blossomed into beautiful young women.
Xuanyi
Participated In Produce 101 China
In the final episode, Xuanyi competed against another WJSN member, Meiqi. Xuanyi failed to gather more votes than Meiqi and ended up in the second position. However, she and Meiqi earned the chance to join the idol group Rocket Girls. Xuanyi endured difficult times at earlier stages of Produce 101 China. Xuanyi’s ranking in Produce 101 China fluctuated every week. In the end, she was able to get rid of her fear of performing on stage and finally showed her talent.
Debut With Rocket Girls 101
Sadly, several days before the release of new singles, Xuanyi’s Korean label management, Yuehua Entertainment, decided to terminate her participation in Rocket Girls. There were contract disputes between the Korean and Chinese label management resulting in the end of Xuanyi’s participation in Rocket girls.

Xuanyi enjoyed some valuable time while traveling to Japan. She posted several pictures of her Japan trip when she shopped for clothes or simply enjoy winter in Japan.
Meiqi
Participated In Produce 101 China
Starship Entertainment and Yuehue Entertainment confirmed the participation of two WJSN Chinese members in Produce 101 China in March 2018. Meiqi’s participation meant a temporary hiatus from WJSN’s promotional activities. In the spin-off program, both Meiqi and Xuanyi were expected to hit the ground running and strolling to the top of the vote. However, it wasn’t as easy as expected. Meiqi had to struggle to maintain her performance and collect a high number of votes.
Indeed, Meiqi and Xuanyo reached the finals and became the two trainees with the highest vote. Meiqi gathered more than 185 million votes and ranked first in the competition. She was visibly in tears at the final announcement. Meiqi, Xuanyi, and other Chinese Produce 101 contestants made an idol group called Rocket Girls. Meiqi was absent from WJSN activity to focus on promoting with the project group.
Debut With Rocket Girls 101
Meiqi debuted with Rocket Girls in June 2018 with the titular single “Rocket Girls.” However, Meiqi’s participation in Rocket Girls was short-lived. Both Meiqi and Xuanyi left the group in August 2019 after barely three months of activities. It seemed that there was a conflict between Starship Entertainment-Yuehua Entertainment and Tencent Entertainment; the two were Meiqi and Xuanyi’s Korean label management and Chinese label management.
Starship Entertainment-Yuehua Entertainment wanted simultaneous participation in Cosmic Girls and Rocket girls while Tencent insisted on exclusive two years contracts with Rocket Girls only. In the end, Yuehuea announced the return of Meiqi to Cosmic Girls. They were reunited after several years of solo activities.
Solo Debut In China
Meiqi made a solo debut in China by releasing her debut single “Hellos” in January 2019. The track was used as one of the original soundtracks of the Chinese science fiction movie The Wandering Earth. Meiqi’s first extended play, Jiang, was released on April 23rd, 2019, and quickly became a sensation.
The “Jiang” MV showed Meiqi performing a one-cut dance choreography for her latest song. There was nothing extremely special about the MV, only Meiqi flaunting excellent dancing moves while singing to her track. The color and the theme of the MV were quite dull with blue and crimson red dominating throughout the video.
The album sold more than 1 million copies within less than an hour of the release. Due to her success in her home country, fans wondered whether Meiqi will return as a member of WJSN.

Meiqi collected a TMEA, which is a Tencent Music Entertainment Award, in December 2019. 2019 had been an excellent year for Meiqy, her EP album earned her diamond certificate and recorded the fastest-selling record in 2019.
