Many K-pop fans and observers think that in a big group, like Treasure, the members’ fixed positions are important. These positions make the choreographies and songs easier to distribute to the members. That’s why, many new Treasure Makers (Treasure’s fan base) wonder if the members have their own fixed positions. Hyunsuk’s Official Positions in Treasure: Leader, Rapper, Dancer
Choi Hyun-suk is the eldest member, as well as the leader of Treasure. Hyunsuk is known for his talents in composing and writing song and rap lyrics. He’s also good in rapping and dancing, even though his dance moves aren’t as good as the main dancers. He’s not confident with his body proportion, and that’s probably the reason why Hyunsuk isn’t the visual of the group.
Talking about his position as a leader, Hyunsuk made it clear during Treasure’s first press conference that a leader doesn’t have any particular tasks that are too heavy. He then continued his words, stating that he wanted to be in Treasure for the rest of his life. Through these statements, it has clear that Hyunsuk was very excited about his role as the leader of Treasure. Hyunsuk proudly stated that he’s the mom of the group.
Jihoon’s Official Positions in Treasure: Leader, Dancer, Main Vocalist
Park Ji-hoon is somewhat referred to as “Hyunsuk’s assistant”. He helps Hyunsuk to discipline the other members, even though he and Hyunsuk have different lead methods. That’s why Jihoon is informally called as secondary leader or “dad”. During Treasure’s first press conference, Jihoon stated that having two leaders in Treasure would be a better choice for both the group and the members. The second-oldest member also said that he and Hyunsuk would do their best to create good synergy effect together as the group’s leaders.
Apart from being a leader, Jihoon is also the dancer and the main vocalist of Treasure. During his trainee period, he already had a stunning vocal. Because of his vocal, Jihoon got the most votes as the most promising entertainment star of his time as a member of Magnum.
Yoshi’s Official Position in Treasure: Rapper
Since his pre-debut days, Yoshi has specialized in beatboxing. The Japanese-oldest member is known as the best beatboxer in Treasure. No wonder, Yoshi is appointed as the rapper of the group. Yoshi also often writes rap lyrics for several of Treasure’s lead singles.
Junkyu’s Official Position in Treasure: Vocalist, Visual
Kim Jun-kyu is a Treasure member who spent the longest trainee period, which was about 7 years. Since his trainee days, Junkyu has had high confidence in his vocals. His confidence has even increased greatly since he was told that he has a voice that matches YG Entertainment’s style.
Apart from being a vocalist, Junkyu also has a great visual. He has a very tall stature, his legs are very long and slender, and his shoulders are very broad. Junkyu was once given the nickname “physical genius” because of his outstanding posture and visual.
Mashiho’s Official Position in Treasure: Main Dancer, Vocalist, Visual
Mashiho also spent his trainee days the longest with Junkyu. Since childhood, Mashiho had started dancing in various genres. That’s why until now, Mashiho is known as the most versatile dancer in Treasure.
Mashiho also has good visuals. When he was a trainee, YG Treasure Box trainees voted him as the most handsome trainee. He’s also considered as one of the vocalists in Treasure.
Jaehyuk’s Official Position in Treasure: Vocalist
Yoon Jae-hyuk was a trainee at YG Entertainment for 6 months. Prior to that, he joined the survival show YG Treasure Box, and got a position as a vocalist. Many Treasure Makers and vocal analysts notice that Jaehyuk is really good at singing in low notes. However, when he’s singing in medium notes, his singing isn’t as good as when he sings in the low one. He also tends to have difficulty singing high notes, which makes him unable to become the main vocalist.
Asahi’s Official Position in Treasure: Vocalist, Visual
Since his pre-debut era, Asahi has become one of the members who attracted so much attention. Many people noticed that since the beginning of his pre-debut era, he’s known as a member who has great visuals. In addition, he also taught himself how to compose a song when he was in middle school.
Asahi is also a vocalist for Treasure. Analysts said that his lows and mids are all okay. When singing at a high note, Asahi doesn’t seem to be struggling, even though he often uses chested-strained sound. His technique in singing is already good, but he still needs to practice his vocal again.
Yedam’s Official Position in Treasure: Main Vocalist
Bang Ye-dam is one of the main vocalists in Treasure. He has pleasant pop voice, and his low, mid, and high notes are superb. His musicality is also very great, because Yedam often uses vibrato at the right time. His tonality is amazing, and his voice is sometimes raspier in some parts of songs. He also uses mixed voices between chest and head noise.
Apart from being a vocalist, Yedam is also good at making music. He has been credited as composer for several Sechskies songs. Yedam usually composes songs with his bandmates Doyoung.
Doyoung’s Official Position in Treasure: Main Dancer, Vocalist
Kim Do-young is the main dancer and vocalist of Treasure. Before debuting in Treasure, Doyoung had danced in Def Skool Dance Crew. He practiced dancing a lot in the dance crew, and he later joined the survival show YG Treasure Box. From the survival show, Doyoung has received great attention with his charming dance skills. Many people noticed that Doyoung’s aura can be seen clearly when he dances. Apart from being the main dancer, he’s also a vocalist and a pianist, and he also likes to compose songs with Yedam.
Haruto’s Official Position in Treasure: Main Rapper, Visual
Haruto (or simply Ruto) is the only main rapper in Treasure. The Fukuoka kid has shown his interest in rapping and beatboxing since he watched Big Bang and 2NE1 concerts when he was at a young age. His extraordinary ability in rapping has made him able to be announced as the first member of Treasure. Ruto often expresses his desire to become a stylish rapper.
Ruto is also considered a visual of Treasure. He has a handsome face, attractive eyes, and long legs. Due to his amazing body features, he was referred to as “Treasure Box’s Number 1 Visual” during his YG Treasure Box era.
Jeongwoo’s Official Position in Treasure: Main Vocalist
Park Jeong-woo is one of three main vocalists in Treasure. During his time as a YG Treasure Box participant, he was known as someone who had a very powerful and young yet clear voice. Since then, he has impressed many people because of his amazing chested and wide-ranged vocals. He also has very good dynamics, and he looks very playful when he sings.
Junghwan’s Official Position in Treasure: Vocalist, Dancer, Maknae
So Jung-hwan is the maknae, or the youngest member of Treasure. He excels in both singing and dancing, earning him positions as a vocalist and dancer. When he sings, he has subtle and cool low tones. His high tones aren’t as good as his mid tones, but overall, his singing is quite decent. His dancing skills are also pretty good, but he’s not the brightest member when he comes to dancing.
