These Popular Songs That Could’ve to Hype Your Mood From B2ST!
Most of you must know the idol group from CUBE Entertainment that was popular with one of their songs, Fiction, isn’t it? The boy group that have members such as Gi-kwang, Yo-seob, Doo-joon, Dong-woon and Jun-hyung still active and was reborn with the name of HIGHLIGHT since they decided to left previous agency and Hyun-seung left the group to be a soloist.
Knowing that they were already famous with their songs since B2ST era, here’s their top 20 songs that you should add on your playlist!
Shock
B2ST released their song titled Shock on February 28, 2010 from their 2nd EP “Shock of the New Era” which was released on March 1, 2010. The song has also released in Japanese version that was released on July 19, 2010 which introduced a new genre from EDM and mixed with rock-electronic, dance-pop and hip hop.
During this era, B2ST has ranked at the 2nd place in the Oricon daily and weekly chart with 28.532 copies sold in the first week and reached the 3rd place in South Korean Gaon Chart. The song itself was composed by Shin Sa-dong Tiger and Lee Sang-ho. The member from B2ST, Jun-hyung, also take part by writing the rap part in this song.
Breath
In September 30, 2010, B2ST has released another song titled Breath that was included as one of a track from their 3rd mini-album, “Mastermind” with another 4 songs. In this mini-album, B2ST made their comeback with a genre of K-Pop, dance-pop and electropop and has a great meaning behind this album when B2ST wanted to break the image of rookie also introduce people about their music.
The music video from Breath itself was released on September 28, 2010 and they made an official comeback stage on KBS’ ‘Music Bank’ 2 days later after the music video was released. The fun fact from their comeback with Breath, was having their choreography made by Prepix’s Haw and Mike Song. This song has also reached on the 4th rank at Gaon chart.
Fiction
In May 17, 2011, B2ST has released another comeback with their lead track from full-length studio album titled “Fiction and Fact”. Their comeback song from this album was titled Fiction that has many awards and gained more attention from public and their fans. The song itself was released with an orchestral version and Japanese version that was included on B2ST’s Japanese album, “So Beast”.
While promoted with Fiction, B2ST started their 1st winning award on M! Countdown on June 2nd and 9th, 2011. They also won 1st place at the KBS’ ‘Music Bank’ on June 3rd and 10th, 2011 and another 1st place on SBS’ ‘Inkigayo’ on June 5 and 12, 2011. During this era, B2ST promotion and career was in the peak as they got more recognition with their music as well.
Black Paradise
Black Paradise is a song from B2ST that was one of a soundtrack from drama series Iris II: New Generation that was aired on February – April 2013. The drama itself starring Yoon Doo-joon, the leader of B2ST, who was played as the character of Seo Hyun-woo in this series.
The song itself became one of a support from B2ST member for Doo-joon’s appearance through Iris II: New Generation. B2ST’s Jun-hyun also took an important part by making this song that became the 3rd soundtrack that was released for this series. The rapper of B2ST, Jun-hyung was working together with his member, Yoon Doo-joon and South Korean composer, Kim Tae-joon to produced the song.
Beautiful
The song that was released on November 9, 2010 was added as one of the track list from their 4th mini-album titled “Lights Go On Again” for the part 2 of their previous album, “Mastermind”. In this album, there’s also 4 other songs that was added as the tracklisting with Beautiful as the title track.
Beside the song that become one of their greatest hits, the album also got the 5 top rank on the music charts. Beautiful got the 1st rank on Mnet and the album was ranked at the 2nd until 5th rank. The teaser from Beautiful was revealed with a concept of audio teaser that was aired on KBS’ COOL FM ‘Narsha’s Raise The Volume’ and it received a lot of anticipation from their fans.
Bad Girl
For you who doesn’t know about B2ST’s debut song, Bad Girl was their debut song that was released as one of a track from their 1st mini-album titled “Beast is the B2ST” that was released on Ocotber 14, 2009. Although they were still a rookie during this era, B2ST has claimed their own taste of music and introduce their hip-hop style that mixed with K-Pop as well.
Bad Girl also released in Japanese version on 2011 and the single itself become a big success for them in Japan as the song peaked on 1st rank in mobile site Rechocoku-Chaku Uta’s daily ringtone chart and 2nd rank in Oricon’s Daily Chaty with 21.449 copies sold on the first day. The music video from Bad Girl in Korean and Japanese version was having a different concept but in there’s no dance break like the Korean vers.
Midnight
This song from B2ST is also a good recommendation for you to added on your playlist. Midnight has another titled as The Night I Count the Stars and it was released digitally in South Korea on July 15, 2012 and included as one of the track of their 5th mini-album titled “Midnight Sun”. This song also has the Japanese version that was released on October 17, 2012.
Although this song doesn’t have any official music video, CUBE Entertainment as B2ST’s agency released a theme music video that has a duration in 1:60 Minutes along with the released of their song. The scenes of the theme music video was taken in New York city and were also took as the scenes for B2ST’s another lead single from “Midnight Sun”.
12:30
In October 20, 2014, B2ST released their 7th EP that was titled as “Time” that has 6 songs in total including their lead track, 12:30. The EP itself is a special one since to commemorate their 5 year anniversary as a group and the album has sold 69.004 copies until December 2014 which made them having the awards of Record of the Year at the 2015 Seoul Music Awards.
During this era, B2ST was having their concert in August 2015 and they announced to released this album which having 12:30 as the title track but having a different concept with ballad song. The song itself was filled with a lot of emotions and meaningful lyrics about the couple who just’ve had a break-up. 12:30 is a masterpiece that was made by every members that was involved in this song from the instruments, lyrics and composing.
