SHINee – A Participant in SM Town Wonderland

On October 31st, it is known by many K-Pop fans that SM Entertainment organizes its annual SMTOWN Wonderland where SM artists would dress up and attend the party. There have been some amazing looks that the agency’s talent rocked at the party, especially SHINee who are always showing up with creative and fun costumes since 2013.

Here’s the full timeline of SHINee’s Halloween costumes at SMTOWN Wonderland throughout the years:

SHINee Halloween Costumes In 2013

Starting from 2013, when the event was first held, SHINee members, except Minho who was absent due to Medical Top Team filming at the time, attended the event with funny and creative costumes. SHINee’s Taemin, Jonghyun, Onew, and Key celebrated Halloween by showing up as popular characters: Onew dressed up like Freddy Kruger from the film A Nightmare on Elm Street, Jonghyun as Naruto, Key as Piccolo from Dragonball Z, and Taemin as singer Marilyn Manson.

We can see all the happy faces of the SHINee members while posing as their favorite characters.

As always, SHINee brought their A-game when it came to the Halloween party. It seems like they never run out of ideas every year!

This time, Onew dressed up as Colonel Sanders (KFC founder and icon), Jonghyun as Sesshomaru from Japanese manga Inuyasha, Key as Jonghyun’s character rival, Ronald McDonald (McDonald’s icon), Minho as Captain Jack Sparrow (Pirates of the Caribbean), and Taemin as Howl from Howl’s Moving Castle.

Later, Jonghyun also tweeted, Since there was no Inuyasha costume I had to buy clothes, wigs separately and mixed them, which ended up as Sesshomaru being a motif as well… Next year, I will try to be in more sync…!!”

Wow, he is so dedicated. Respect!

SHINee Halloween Costumes In 2016

Well, unfortunately, we have to skip this year.

In 2016 there was no SM Halloween Party just like in the previous years. Due to the political situation at that time, SM Wonderland Halloween Party was canceled, because they thought that it would be such a controversy if idols were partying, while all of the people in South Korea were mad at their controversial president at the time, Park Geun-hye.

To avoid all of the leaked photos and to avoid unnecessary slander of SM, the party was canceled.

But, no worries, SM Wonderland was back in 2017!

In 2017, the SM Halloween Party was held on November 7th. And as always, all of the SM Entertainment artists showed up with a lot of magnificent and extraordinary costumes!

Sadly this time, SHINee didn’t show up with full members. But, don’t worry, we still can catch the creativity of SHINEE’s Minho who dressed up as legendary Bruce Lee, Jonghyun as a cute dinosaur, and Key as Marge Simpson kkk~

Now, to the SM Halloween Party back in 2018! As always, throughout the event, there were a lot of artists who showed up with great costumes!

This time, Key shocked many with his transformation for this year’s Halloween party! He posted on his Instagram and apparently he decided to transform into Voldemort from the Harry Potter franchise.

He looked extremely similar to the actual character and fans could not help but talk about how scary he looked at the same time.

Despite that being said, Key had removed the Voldemort look way earlier because of a conflicting schedule that took place on the same day. Instead, his effort was made known by replacing himself with a life-size panel board in the actual party. He was seen posing with Onew on his Instagram!

In addition to his passion and dedication, Key released a video of the breakdown of how he got his make-up done for the Voldemort look.

It looked tedious to get his face transformed and fans were applauding for his effort. He also managed to clinch the ‘Best Dresser’ this year.

Aside from Key, Onew also looked dazzling in his costume and seemed like he had a really good time.
