Joo-heon’s Career With Monsta X
Before joining Monsta X, Joo-heon was a part of a survival program created by Starship Entertainment and aired by MNET, namely No Mercy. The concept is almost the same as Produce 101, where 12 contestants compete against each other, and only 7 will be chosen to make a debut under Starship Entertainment. Joo-heon, #GUN, Shownu, and Wonhoo had previously been included in the project group formed by Starship Entertainment in 2014 under the name Nu Boyz, and in the end, they all joined the No Mercy survival program.
Joo-heon does have a very good rapping capability compared to other trainees, even Hyorin, a former member of SISTAR, said that Joo-heon did rap like a monster. In January 2015, Joo-heon released a collaboration song, “Coach Me,” with San-E and Hyolyn.
In 2015, Monsta X officially debuted with 7 members, where Joo-heon was the first member to be announced. The name MONSTA X has two meanings. First, MONSTA X means monsters that can hit K-Pop. Second, MONSTA X means my star where Mon means ownership in French, Sta (star) means star, while X means unknown existence. In Monsta X, Joo-heon also participated in making songs.
In the summer of 2015, Jooheon auditioned for the fourth season of the rap competition series Show Me the Money on Mnet. He made it to the third round, then he was eliminated in the 1 versus 1 match against rapper Lee Hyun-joon, but he was brought back for a second chance only to lose to One.
Joo-heon’s Ideal Type
Joo-heon likes girls that are pretty much like him in terms of personality and taste of music. His girl would look good in simple white t-shirts and jeans. He said, “a woman who looks good in jeans. All those women are my ideal type.”
Someone around Joo-heon’s age would fit him since he likes someone that has a personality similar to his. For his girl’s ideal weight – it would be around 45-48 kg.
