Kim Tae-yeon, or better known by her stage name Taeyeon, is a South Korean solo artist under SM Entertainment. She is well known as one of the eight members of the popular K-Pop girl group Girls’ Generation. In 2017, Taeyeon debuted as the main vocalist of the group. Celebration Of Girls Generation 12th Anniversary

On August 2nd, 2019, Taeyeon updated her Instagram with several pictures celebrating her dearest group Girls’ Generation’s 12th anniversary with her fellow group members, Yoona, Yuri, Sunny, Tiffany, Seohyun, Hyeyeon, and Sooyoung. That day, the Girls’ Generation member also celebrated one of their members, Tiffany’s 30th birthday who was born on August 1st, 1989.
Taeyeon uploaded three photos on her Instagram, where the first picture is a cake to celebrate the group’s 12th anniversary and Tiffany’s birthday, while the second and third pictures include all eight members posing together and smiling to the camera. Along with the picture, Taeyeon wrote the caption: “소녀시대 12살 ♡,” that can be read, “Girls’ Generation 12 years old ♡.” The post has gained around 930 thousand likes, and more than 10 thousand comments since Taeyeon posted it.
However, behind the joy, there seems to be a hidden message to be conveyed by Girls’ Generation. This can be seen from the birthday cake in Taeyeon’s post. Fans found that there were 9 strawberries on the white cake. In August 2019, SM Entertainment finally held the most anticipated family concert by the SM Stans. The agency confirmed that SM TOWN 2019 will be held in Tokyo and shared a poster that showed performers including Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation members (Taeyeon and Hyoyeon), SHINee’s Taemin, f(x) (Amber, Krystal, and Luna), EXO, Red Velvet, NCT 127, NCT Dream, and J-Min.

[PURPOSE: THE EXHIBIT] in Seoul
Taeyeon of Girls’ Generation dropped her brand new second full-length album Purpose on October 28th, 2019, under her agency SM Entertainment. The album features 12 tracks, including the single “Four Seasons,” its B-side track “Blue” alongside ten new tracks, where the single “Spark” is the title track of the album.
To celebrate the release of her brand new album, the powerhouse singer, Taeyeon held a photo exhibition. The exhibition was titled “Purpose: The Exhibit” and it was held from October 22nd to October 27th, 2019, at Gana Art Hannam, central Seoul. The exhibition was also held at exhibit space F1963 in Busan from Wednesday through Sunday, from October 23rd to October 27th, 2019. The admission to the exhibition was free.

The exhibition was a curated selection of images from the singer’s second album, Purpose. And it was divided into three sections to showcase the singer’s self as a vocalist, artist, as well as diverse aspects of herself.
On October 22nd, 2019, Taeyeon shared her precious moments during her exhibition “Purpose: The Exhibit” through her Instagram. She posted six pictures of her standing and staring at her own picture of the exhibition. The post has been liked by more than 700 thousand people and gained more than 7 thousand comments since she shared it.
Frozen 2 Into The Unknown Project
The main vocalist of the popular South Korean girl group Girls’ Generation, Taeyeon, would be singing the Original Soundtrack of Disney’s film Frozen 2: Into The Unknown in the Korean version.
On October 29th, 2019, Disney Korea finally confirmed through an Instagram post that the powerhouse vocalist would indeed be singing the song. The music video of “Into The Unknown” Taeyeon version was released on November 15th, 2019, through the Disney Asia YouTube channel disneymusicasiaVEVO.
Disney Korea wrote a caption that can be read: “The Korean cover song artist is multi-talented vocalist Taeyeon who you trust and listen to. We are already excited for our ears to be happy this winter! Christmas Eve 2019
On December 25th, 2019, right on Christmas Day, Taeyeon updated her fans with several pictures of herself through her own Instagram account. The pictures showed that the singer was celebrating Christmas Day. Taeyeon uploaded three pictures, the first picture was Christmas tree candles while two other pictures of herself wearing a Christmas hat and smiling happily.

9th Gaon Chart Music Awards
The 9th annual Gaon Chart Music Awards took place at the Jamsil Arena in Seoul on January 8th, and it was hosted by Super Junior’s Leeteuk and ITZY’s Lia.
During the event, Taeyeon won Artist of The Year for the month of March with her chart-topping digital single “Four Seasons” at the 9th annual Gaon Chart Music Awards.
In her acceptance speech, Taeyeon thanked everyone for liking the song so much, her managers, the SM staff, and her dear fans, SONE. The singer also delighted both the audience at the venue and at home by performing her song “Four Seasons.”

On December 16th, 2019, it was announced through the official Girls’ Generation Twitter page that Taeyeon will be embarking on her fourth Asian tour as a solo artist, beginning at Olympic Handball Gymnasium in Seoul, South Korea. From January 1st to January 23rd, 2020, concert dates for Singapore, Thailand, and Taiwan were also announced. However, following the outbreak of coronavirus across Asia and other countries around the world, the Singapore concert scheduled for February 1st, 2020, has been postponed to a later date that is yet to be decided. On February 4th, 2020, the postponement of the Bangkok shows was also announced.
On January 18th, 2020, Taeyeon shared the cherished moments of her solo concert with her fans on her Instagram. In the picture, the singer posed with a cake along with the sentence, “Taeyeon’s concert ‘The Unseen’.” She also wrote a caption simply with the fire emoticon “🔥.”

Seoul Music Awards 2020
The 2020 Seoul Music Awards took place on January 30th, 2020, at Gocheok Sky Dome, Seoul. The winners have been announced according to a number of categories contained in this year’s award.
Like other music awards in South Korea, the 2020 Seoul Music Awards also gave the highest award or grand prize winner (Daesang) in two categories. The two categories are one for best album and another for best digital music. During this event, the award for the best female solo artist was given to Taeyeon, the grand prize for digital music for her single “Four Seasons,” which was released in May 2019.
One of the Girls’ Generation members, not only won a Daesang in the category for Digital Song of the Year for her song “Four Seasons,” but she also managed to bring home two other trophies. The singer was awarded Bonsang for her album Purpose and Best Original Soundtrack for the drama theme song of Hotel Del Luna, “All About You.”
On January 31st, 2020, Taeyeon took to her Instagram and shared her pictures with her three winning trophies. She wrote a long caption that can be read: “The prize is heavy today! 💜 Thank you so much, everyone, S♡NE for making memorable moments.
