Nichkhun’s Chinese Drama Shall We Fall in Love
In 2018, Nichkhun starred in the Chinese web drama titled Shall We Fall in Love? In the web drama, Nichkhun acted alongside former Miss A member Fei who also starred in the drama. Nichkhun plays Jiang Yinan and Fei acts as Liang Dingfei.
Reported from Chinesedrama, this web drama tells about a young man’s journey from a nobody to someone who proves to work and wins over love and friendship. Jiang Yinan is an unemployed young man with limited options due to his lack of credentials. Nevertheless, he is an optimistic and cheerful fellow among the many people in the jobless pool. During a random encounter, Yinan saves Chen Xinyue played by Li Muchen who has fallen into the water. Xu Haoyu is played by Wang Zirui’s provocations which are caused by his attraction to Chen Xinyue.
Yinan relies on hard work and quick thinking to not only secure the job, but to become the top applicant of ShenYuan Group’s open recruitment. Unhappy with Yinan’s happy-go-lucky attitude, Xu Haoyu makes life difficult for Yinan at every turn. His girlfriend Liang Dingfei, on the other hand, is full of curiosity towards Yinan. As it turns out, Yinan’s acceptance was a mistake by President Jin who tried to cover it up to ensure that Yinan was pushed out of the company.
Nichkhun’s Special Song “Umbrella”
The song “Umbrella” is a song made by Nichkhun. The song was released on December 11th, 2018, and was also released in four languages, English, Korean, Chinese, and Thai.
Nichkhun has the story behind the song “Umbrella” he made, he said “For the past 10 years, Hottest has been protecting me from rain, I wanted to pay it back. ‘Umbrella’ is a very honest song that I made to say to fans that ‘From now on, I will become an umbrella for you!'”

Nichkhun’s Other Activities
Besides being an active singer, Nichkhun is also active in other fields of the entertainment world, such as starring in several TV programs, starring in several dramas or films, becoming a model for a product, and many more. Nichkhun spoke about acting in films, the music industry, and his future plans.
Reported from Soompi, Nichkhun caught fans up to speed on what he has been up to and said, “I was overseas. Last month, I went to a screening of Brother & Sister in Thailand and also went to Japan and China for a fan meeting and an award ceremony respectively. These days, I’ve been spending my days between Thailand, China, and Japan. I think I’ll be in Thailand until January because of filming for the movie. Because I’m not as active in Korea right now, people ask if ‘Nichkhun has retired,’ but I have not retired.”
He also said, “I can’t say I’m an actor yet. I’m officially starting now, so I’m lacking a lot.” He revealed that he originally dreamed of becoming an actor but didn’t pursue it in Korea because he didn’t want it to affect 2PM’s activities. However, since the other Korean members will enlist in the military after Taecyeon, he thought now is the time to pursue it.
2PM was the creator of “Beastly Idols” on their career through their powerful performances. When asked about his thoughts on the nickname, Nichkhun stated, “If you look at the members one by one, they’re not really beastly. Taecyeon is really cute when you get to know him. I think that “Beastly Idols” is only possible when the six of us are together so to me, it’s a very cool and valuable nickname. There is no description that fits us better when we’re together as 2PM.”
As an idol member for almost 10 years, Nichkhun also shared his thoughts on the K-Pop industry. “When I look at my juniors, the first thing I think is that I’m getting old and that they’re really good and really cool,” said Nichkhun. He continued, “For example, BTS is amazing. The juniors’ talents are getting increasingly better, but I think the working environment has gotten worse. These days, there seem to be only idol singers so I think it’s more competitive and music shows are becoming more catered to teens. I want talented juniors to be able to make music in a better environment, and I am sad that it’s not possible.”
Nichkhun’s Latest News
In 2019, Nichkhun again starred in a drama aired by TVN, Arthdal Chronicles. According to JYP Entertainment agency, he just completed filming his part of the drama. While Nichkhun had appeared in both Japanese and Chinese dramas, Arthal Chronicles would be his first Korean drama appearance.
Nickhun has also said that 2PM will soon make a comeback and release an album, but it is still uncertain when exactly 2PM will come back. When he saw other boy groups performing on stage, Nichkhun and other members said, “Let’s do it.”
